Is the iPhone 4s and iOS 5 in trouble? It's battery life is not shaping up for some consumers!
Apple haven't yet confirmed the source of the issues, or the specifics of the problem, but they stated a software update due to be released in the coming weeks will address the issue.
Speculation is running that the problem stems from the new and improved location services incorporated in iOS5. It seems that in devices suffering with shortened 'BatteryPower' (forgive me, I had to get that in somewhere! :D), turning off the location services resolves the problem.
Now, that said, is this a big deal? Is it surprising that a new phone, and software that continues to push the edge, is going to manifest some issues in real world usage? I don't think so.
Provided they get this issue resolved quickly, I don't think its going to affect the iPhone's continued success. Now, that said, if your laptop battery is suffering the same issue - I don't think you can blame 'location services'!
